Chemical exposure speeds up early puberty and causes long term effects in childrens' health

According to a recent study on 338 children from birth through adolescence, conducted by the Center for Environmental Research and Children's Health at the University of California in the United States, chemicals have been linked to early puberty including phthalates, which are often found in scent products such as perfumes, soaps and shampoos; parabens, which are used as preservatives in cosmetics; and phenols, which include triclosan.

In the study, over 90 percent of the tested children's urine samples showed high concentrations of all the potentially hormone-altering chemicals.

A recent article in the Korean times unveiled a study that show that the amount of endocrine disruption that children are being exposed to is currently leading to health concerns such as early puberty and childhood cancers.
